Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

The opening sale of 2018 continued on the pre-Christmas trade with very good demand all round. Again quality to the fore and some very nice stock available, in all rings. The number of calves was small but great demand for these. Continental calves made to €525 and Friesian bull calves to €230 for strong calves. Cows with calves at foot made to €1,750. Weanling bulls a shade dearer than pre-Christmas and heifers a similar trade. The sheep trade was also a positive start to the new year with hoggets making to €121 or to €69 over. Cull ewes made €66 to €116.

Numbers slightly affected by the weather but still over 450 on offer. Trade for the heavier bull of 380kgs to 400kgs upwards was improved by up to €30 per head on the week as there was a number of feeders targeting these. It must be said that there was some very good quality lots available. Heifers a steady trade on the week and again it was quality to the fore. The number of calves remained small but a strong trade for what was on offer. Continental calves made to €516 with Friesian bull calves making to €140. Again a small entry of suckler stock of variable quality and pairs made to €1,680. Sheep numbers relatively small too but a slightly improved trade with hoggets making to €125 or to €67 over. Cull ewes made €80 to €140.

Fine size sale again today with just over 600 on offer and almost 50% of these were cull cows with a great mix of Continentals and Friesians. There was also a very good mixture in both the bullocks and heifers of Continental and traditional breeds. Overall trade very much similar to last week in all rings, and again forward stock a very good trade. A number of aged bulls on offer also and made to €2,210 or from €1.55kg to €2.31/kg.

Good size sale today with almost 600 on offer. Again a great trade for bulls and some very good and forward bulls available, and these much sought after. Trade for heifers also strong with quality store type lots making up to and over €3/kg. Suckler stock also in demand with pairs making to €1,570 and in-calf stock to €1,680. A number of dairy stock on offer and generally making €1,000 for average lots. Calf numbers small again with Continentals making to €520 and Friesian bull calves making €75 to €120.
Hoggets a similar trade making to €121 or to €68 over their weight. Cull ewes made €75 to €120.

Numbers up on the week in the bullock and heifer rings similar numbers in the cow ring. Trade stronger in the cull cow ring. Heifers a similar trade and bullocks slightly easier by about €10 a head. More stores about this week especially in the bullocks and heifers. Good mix in the cull cow ring with beef and stores. A number of aged bulls also on offer and these made up to €2,180 for a 1,000kg Charolais bull. Bulls generally made from €1.50/kg to €2/kg.

Numbers strong today with almost 800 on offer. More calves about today and these were a mix of Friesians and Continentals. Friesian bulls made €80 to €140. Continental bulls made to €500 and heifers to €490. Some good quality in-calf sucklers available and these were well sought after and made to €1,710. Very few cows and calves about and these made to €1,490. Again the forward bull weanlings were a very strong trade. Heifers a shade easier for a big entry. Hoggets also a bit harder sold today making to a tops of €115 or to a tops of €62 over. Cull ewes made €64 to €108. A few dairy in-calf heifers and these made €1,310 to €1,400.
