Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

A sale of 990 lots was on offer at Ennis mart today. There were some excellent quality weanlings on offer today. Weanling trade has improved on recent weeks this was seen with more farmer activity around all rings. But also, by the strong export activity in the bull ring mainly for lots under 300 kgs and under 10 months of age. A large entry of suck calves met a good demand where almost full clearance was achieved. Top price calf was €680 for a Limousin bull calf. Friesian calves made from €80-€175 with lighter calves selling from €30-€70. Hereford and Angus calves made from €200-€340. Continental bred heifer calves sold to €500. In-calf suckler heifers sold up to €1,200. Suckler cows with calves at foot sold up to €2,510 for a 2015 born Limousin cow with a Limousin heifer calf at foot. Freshly calved dairy cows and heifers made from €1,000 up to €1,550. Sheep trade remains steady with hogget’s making up to €150 for 62kg. Cull ewes made up to €130. Ewes with lambs sold to €185 for ewes with twin lambs. Spring lambs were in good demand with pen of lambs weighing 43kg sold for €164.

Kilrush mart had a slightly smaller sale than last week but with an almost total clearance of all lots. A large entry of yearling stock was on offer again this week. Trade held firm on the previous week with a good demand for all quality types with even a slight increase on prices from last week. FR calves sold mainly from €40 up to €130. AAX/HEX calves sold from €140 up to €305, continentals sold up to €300. Good activity from agents and farmers around all rings. Great demand for cull cows.

Another large entry in Ennis mart today, the good weather attracted plenty of buyers both agents and farmers. The bullock and heifer trade has remained a steady trade with prices holding and even increasing again on last week. Good quality lots of grass cattle were in excellent demand. Some quality bullocks on offer and these were met by a very strong demand from farmers. Forward bullocks were especially in demand. Cows were met with an excellent demand once again with a large number of cows on offer. Aged bulls sold to a top price of €2,160 for a LM bull weighting 1,125kg.
