Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Very big sale today with over 1,150 on offer which included 300 calves. Overall calves meet a good trade with an exceptional Charolais Bull calf making €750 and another made €630 both by the same seller. Trade for Friesian bull calves made €30 to €200, with little more life in shippers for these. Whitehead bulls €200 to €305 and Hereford heifers to €200, Angus similar trade overall. Dairy cows meet a good trade and made to €1,630. Suckler pairs made to €1,860, in-calf lots made to €1,250. Strong weanling trade again with exporters and farmers in bull ring and farmers again main customers in heifer ring. Good trade for hoggets and these made to €126 with culls making to €110. Ewes with pairs at foot made to €205.

Very big sale in Kilrush again today with 185 calves on offer. Quality of calves on offer was variable today with some poor quality light lots about. Quality well fed calves attracted good farmer and shipper demand. A good mix of Continentals in bullock and heifer ring. But again mostly dairy culls available today and these meet a good trade.

Monday 8th April 2019
Clare Marts held their mixed breed bull sale today and quality bulls meet a good trade but poor quality lots not wanted. There were strong entries of both Limousin and Charolais bulls. The Limousin bulls sold from €1,560 to €3,500 and averaged €2,290. The Charolais sold from €1,450 to €3,100 and averaged €2,100. Only a few Whiteheads sold and these made €2,200 to €2,800. One Angus bull sold on the day for €1,900.
Next mixed breed bull sale will be on Monday 13th May – Closing date for entries Wednesday 24th April.

Very big sale today with over 1,200 head on offer which included just over 300 calves. Trade very strong for the top quality lots in both bull and heifer weanlings but quite a number of average quality lots available today especially in the bull ring. Calves meet a strong trade; Friesian bulls €40 to €200. Whiteheads and Angus made €150 to €290. Continentals made to €550. A mixed run of dairy stock available today and these topped out at €1.550. Suckler pairs made to €1,920 and in-calf stock made to €1,700. A sprinkle of spring lambs available today and these made to €137 for 50kgs. Hoggets improved €4 to €5 and made to €134. Cull ewes made to €128.

Very big sale in Kilrush today with 550 lots on offer which included 100 calves. Friesian bull calves made €20 to €160 depending on strength. Whitehead calves made to €275. There was a fine farmer trade today as men anxious for cattle for grass. There was a very good mix of Continental and traditional breeds available today in both the bullock and heifer rings.

Big sale again today with almost 1,100 head of stock on offer. The strong trade for quality stock is holding but lesser quality that bit harder sold. Shippers and farmers in the bull ring whereas in the heifer ring it was feedlot feeders and farmers. Again over 300 calves on offer and these meet a fine trade with the shippers anxious for Friesians, Angus and Blue cross calves. The stronger Friesians made to €200. Whiteheads and Angus made from €140 to €300. Continental calves made to €525. Quality suckler pairings made to €2,420 with Dairy stock making to €1,510. A good entry of spring lambs made to €135 for 49kgs and hoggets made to €130. Cull ewes made to €113 and ewes with lambs at foot made to €200 for singles.

Big sale again today with over 1,000 head of stock on offer. Trade similar to last week all round with no great change. Not quite as many buyers around today, but trade held firm with farmers and shippers in the bull weanling ring and heifers dominated by feeders and farmers. Calf numbers eased today but trade firm with a good deal of shipping activity for these. Suckler pairs made to €1,900. A mixed run of dairy stock on offer and these made to €1,330. Spring lamb meet a similar trade with 50kgs making to €135 and hoggets made to €126. Cull ewes made to €119. Ewes with lambs at foot made to €195.

Numbers dropping off slightly with just over 900 on offer which included 225 calves. Trade for the calves holding very well with shippers and farmers competing. Continental calves made to €465. Whitehead calves made to €280. Pairs in the suckler ring made to €2,340. A more variable mixture in the bull and heifer weanling ring but quality lots holding a smashing trade. Dairy cows topped out at €1,460 for a third calver. A mixture of 50/50 Spring lambs and hoggets today with Spring lamb making to €135 for 56kgs and 49kgs made €133. Hoggets made to €130. Cull ewes made to €124 and ewes with lambs at foot made to €282.
