About Clare Marts
A farmer-owned co-operative founded in 1959; Clare Marts is one of the largest livestock marts in Ireland. With over 2,500 shareholders we have four centres: Ennis (Head Office), Kilrush, Scariff and Kilfenora. Farmers who use us can rely on the purchase and sale of livestock in a safe, secure, efficient and guaranteed environment while also enjoying the benefits of being part of our valuable farming network.
What We Sell
At our Ennis centre and Head Office we sell weanlings, suckler and dairy stock, runners and calves, beef and store bullocks, heifers, dry cows and factory stock. We hold sales throughout the year. In the spring and autumn, we hold a Friday sale of bullocks. Kilrush Mart holds general sales weekly on Wednesdays in spring and autumn and fortnightly during the summer. Sales in Scariff and Kilfenora are seasonal.
Clare Marts also caters for dairy and suckler reduction and clearance sales.

Built on Quality
We have built up a reputation for the trading of top-quality weanlings and store cattle, which are produced from a well-established suckler base within the county and surrounding counties. These cattle are very suitable for finishing at heavy carcase weights and for live export.
We also strive to enhance livestock quality wherever we can. To further improve the quality of stock on offer we have made available several premia schemes – which offered financial support to farmers who purchased top-quality bulls and used AI.
Committed to Our Community
Over the years, we have grown to become a platform that supports our farming members beyond trade. As a co-operative, connection is part of our DNA, and ours is a network that knows how to share and support. Through Clare Marts, farmers find a free exchange of information and ideas amongst their peers.
This is how learning and improvement in our industry happens, while a deep sense of community means our farmers enjoy meeting up and socialising.
