Smaller sheep sale today with 560 on offer. A lot of lambs in today’s sale were short of flesh and this reflected in the trade as lambs were back 10c/kg on the week. €200 is very hard got now for heavy butcher sheep. A good entry of cull ewes and these averaged €2.05/kg, with a top price of €236 for 98kgs. Other standout prices in this section included: 4 ewes weighing 92kgs making €220, 7 ewes weighing 74kgs making €174. There was a handful of breeding hoggets and these made to €315, with rams making to €220.
