Good size sale today with 700 on offer. There were 3 shippers active in the bull ring and also a number of farmer buyers. Bulls up to 380kgs held the trade but bulls over this weight were easier by 10c/kg on the week. It must be said that the quality of stock on offer today was excellent. Heifer weanlings were dearer by 10c/kg once they were over 300kgs. A handful of suck calves made from €190 to €1,140. Again suckler stock were a great trade, with pairs making to €4,900 and in-calf lots making to €3,650. The biggest issue for shippers at the moment seems to be a backlog of stock that need to get away.
