The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Big sheep sale today with just over 500 on offer. Some great sheep on offer today especially in the Spring Lambs and cull ewe section. Cull ewes were a great trade yet again but some very good ewes about and these made to €166. Ewes with pairs at foot made to €257.

Good size sale again with 750 on offer. Trade improved in the heifer ring and bulls marginally better. Some very fancy prices yet again for the quality heifers with the right markings, with a lovely Limousin cross type heifer of 355kgs making €1,950. Again, quite a large number of Autumn born weanlings. Some dairy stock available today and made to €1,630. Pairs in the suckler ring made to €2,500. Calves meet a strong trade yet again with a Charolais bull making €680 and a Limousin bull made to €645. A few Friesian bull calves made up to €235. AA calves made €130 to €270. HEX calves made €150 to €375.

Just over 600 on offer today which included 170 calves. The good calves held a great trade yet again with a top call of €580 for a BB heifer calf. Small numbers of Friesian bul calves today and these made €85 to €145. Quite a few HEX calves and these made €145 to €380, AAX calves made €125 to €240. Good Continental calves making €230 to €580. Suckler pairings made to €2,500. Overall weanlings similar trade to last week but quality more variable in both rings.
An AAX bull weanling sold by the Keane family for the benefit of Hospice made €1,600 for 500kgs.

Good size sale again with just over 600 on offer which included 140 calves. Predominantly coloured calves today and a Limousin bull calf reached €645. A strong trade was achieved in the calf ring, with both ringside and online activity strong today. Bull trade strong also with quite a few Autumn born weanlings again. Again, the quality heifers a very fine trade and a few farmers about for a breeding heifer. A handful of Friesian yearling heifers made from €660 to €850. Suckler pairs made to €2,560. Overall trade very similar to last week in all rings.

Very large sale of sheep today with over 600 sheep on offer, which would represent a doubling of the size of sale as normal at this time of year. Again lambs and cull ewes a cracking trade. Cull ewes a cracking trade and made to €181. Ewes with lambs at foot made to €346 and that being for 3 ewes and 5 lambs. A small entry of hoggets made to €175.

Bigger than expected sale with just over 650 on offer. Quite a few Autumn born weanlings again and the nice quality ones of these were a very strong trade. Just short of 100 calves on offer and again a fine trade for these despite being almost the 1st of June. Calves were a mix of HEX, AAX and Continentals. A strong Charolais heifer calf made €605. Generally HEX calves in the €200 to €300 bracket. AA calves made €140 to €340. A strong entry of suckler stock, with pairs making to €2,820.
