The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Fine size sale of Weanlings again today with 765 on offer. More life in the heifer ring today as more farmers about. Trade in the bull ring similar to last week with very little activity by shippers today and the top quality lots very much sought after, and up to €3.80/kg for the tops of these. Runner heifers made to €870 and runner bulls made to €1,040. Again, mostly in-calf lots and these made to €2,400 and pairs made to €2,300. A handful of suck calves available today and these made to€460 for a top class AA bull of a month old.

A strong entry of cull cows today with 340 on offer but heifer numbers smaller with 200 on offer. Again it’s the most forward stock that are attracting the strongest offers. Mostly Continental cull cows today with dairy types scarce. More online activity today. A 99% clearance was achieved today. There were 22 aged bulls, again all Continentals and HEX and these averaged €2.10/kg.

Good size sale today with 685 on offer. Trade stronger in both the bull and heifer rings. Runner heifers made to €700 and runner bulls to €870. Exporters and farmers very busy in the bull ring. Many of the bulls exceeding the €3/kg and a top shout of €4.20/kg. The top heifers also exceeded the €3/kg. Calves made €90 to €500. Suckler stock strong trade with in-calf heifers making to €2,300 and pairs made to €2,040. A 97% clearance was achieved today.

Fine size sale today with 689 on offer and trade was strong in all rings. Again quite a number of quality stock on offer which helped the trade. We had a clearance sale of 65 in-calf suckler cows due to calf February and march next year and varying in age from 2014 to 2019. Runner heifers made to 720 and runner bulls made to €950. A dozen calves on offer and these made to €540 for a charolais bull of 6 weeks old.
