Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.
Draw For First Pen To Be Sold in Weanling Bull and Bullock Ring
Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Good size sale today with just over 845 on offer with 200 calves available.
Calves sold well especially anything with a bit of strength, again poor light calves finding it hard to get sold. Friesian bull made from €20 to €60 for the lighter calves with better lots making €70 to €115 and some strong British Friesians making to €230. HEX calves made from €120 to €355, AAX calves made from €50 to €250, and continentals peaked at €580. A handful of dairy cows made from €1,360 to €1,710. Pairs in the suckler ring made to €3,080 and in-calf lots made to €2,620. A very strong trade for the bull weanlings as farmers very active and the quality heifers very dear with some super prices achieved.

Opening sale for 2023 today and a nice entry for the opening sale. A number of calves available but only the better quality lots of these were sold. Fine trade for the bullocks and heifers on offer.

Fine size sale today with 948 on offer. Calves bigger than normal and the lack of shipping affected the Friesian bull calves and some of these sold down as low as €5. However, some of the better Friesian bulls made to €175 for stronger calves. Again a similar story with AA claves with light crossbreed calves making €10 to €50 and the better lots to €190. HEX calves made to €390. Dairy stock made €1,160 to €2,060. Pairs in the suckler ring hit €3,320 and a clearance of 14 Cows & Calves averaged €3,040. In-calf lots in this ring made to €3,440 for PBR LIM cow 5 years old. Again some great prices achieved in the bull weanlings and heifers hit €4.03 and bulls hit €4.42/kg. A 99% clearance was achieved, reflecting the trade.
