The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Very big sale of cull cows with 370 on offer and 320 heifers available. Again, some very good continental cows on offer, with more FR cows in the mix today. Overall cow trade similar. The good quality heifers holding a very solid trade but the plainer lots getting harder sold. Dairy culls out of the parlour making €0.75-1.10/kg, with better lots making to €1.60/kg.

Good size sheep sale today with just over 600 on offer. Trade was stronger but some very good lambs available today with good flesh and these made to €165 with many of the good lambs in €150 to €157 bracket. A slight bit more bite to the culls also with these averaging €1.35 and hit €149 for 107kgs.

Good size sale again today of both cull cows and heifers, with 574 on offer. Again, quite a number of continental cull cows available. Trade in the cow ring that bit tougher, while the heifer ring held a very solid trade as there was some excellent lots available. Heavier heifers averaging 9 cents/kg dearer on the week. The better cows back about 5 cents/kg, but poorer cows back about 10 cents/kg. Dairy culls still only making up about 20% of the cows on offer. Again, a good entry of aged bulls averaged €2.13/kg, with a top call of €2,440 for a 1115kg LM bull.

Strong entry of bullocks again today with 548 on offer. Trade a shade stronger especially in the 500kg to 700kg range and these were up by about 5c/kg. Bullocks over 700kgs were up about 10c/kg and lighter stores similar to last week. Today bullocks hit to €2,440, for animals up to 40 months old. Overall, great quality bullocks on offer again today.

Smaller size sale today especially in the heifer ring. A lot more bite in the cull cow ring, especially for the good forward cows and in cases these were €100 dearer. Likewise forward heifer dearer by €50/head on the week, but stores were a similar trade in both rings. Some beef type cows up 15c-20c/kg. A small entry of aged bulls today averaged €1.89/kg.

Good size sale today with 483 on offer. Some fabulous prices for both bulls and heifers today and some great heifers topped €6/kg. Shippers and farmers very active in the bull ring. The nice quality light bulls were very dear and reached €4/kg on a few occasions. Only a handful of calves available and these made to €420 for a month old LMX bull. Sucklers also met a very fine trade as pairs made to €2,640 and in calf lots reached €2,060.

Numbers holding fairly strong for the time of year with 65 cull cows available and a high percentage of these were dairy culls. Over 200 available overall and these met a strong farmer demand, especially for the bullocks as there was nice quality stock available. Quite a number of cattle shown today that have been housed for a month or more.

Good size sale of cull cows and heifers today with 419 on offer. Flesh was scarce in both rings as there was more store type stock available. Mostly continental cows on offer in the cow ring with only small numbers of dairy culls available. Trade was a shade stronger than last week all round. A reasonable entry of aged bulls averaged €2.02/kg, with a top call of €2,260 for a CH bull weighing 1,070kgs.

Numbers similar to last week with 432 on offer. Overall trade pretty similar to last week, with shippers & farmers very active in the bull ring. Generally weanling bulls up about 5c/kg and heifer trade similar. Mostly lighter stock available with very few over 400kgs in either ring. Small number of calves available and these hit €585 for a 5 week old AA bull, with more interest in calves today. Again suckler cow numbers were small and these made to €2,390 for pairs.

Similar size sale again today with 412 on offer between heifers and cull cows. Great bite for forward stock in both rings, more of a mix of continental & dairy culls today.
Good quality cull cows up 8-10c/kg again today. A good entry of aged bulls averaged €2.39/kg, as there was some very good continentals on offer with an AA bull of 1,040kg making €2,330.
