Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Good size sheep sale today with 686 on offer. Trade improved all round today, both for the heavy & store lambs and culls. Better fleshed sheep available today in the lambs and culls, as trade improved by €5/head or more with more bite for stores also. Culls made to €146 for a 92kg ewe. No sheep sale next week Monday 30th October.

Big sale of weanlings today with 868 on offer. More farmers about for weanlings and a lot of customers to buy 7 or 8 toady, with this helping to maintain the trade very well. Shippers not as active and weanlings lighter, with many in the 270-320kg bracket. Heifer runners peaked at €910 and bulls at €1,120. A super trade for suckler stock with pairs making to €2,490 and in calf lots to €2,280. A number of in calf Galloways in this section made €1,020-€1,120.

Big sale of heifers and cull cows, with almost 400 heifers and 250 cows on offer. Surprisingly mostly continental cows on offer with only small numbers of FR cows available. The good quality forward heifer was a fine trade but lesser lighter lots easier. Parlour cows are hard sold making €0.75-1.20/kg depending on breed and condition. A small entry of aged bulls today averaged €1.83/kg, with a LM bull of 1,080 kgs making €2,110.

Big sale of bullocks again today with over 700 on offer. Again, quite a few forward cattle available. A great trade for 2022 born stores in the 420-520kg bracket. The quality forward 2021 born bullocks a fine trade but the poorer quality 2021 born bullock was a tougher trade. Average prices still running €50 on this day last year with weights similar.
