Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

The opening sheep sale of 2024 took place today with just short of 300 on offer. Trade up €6-10 on pre-Christmas levels. A small entry of cull ewes available today and these generally making €1.10-1.50/kg, but better lots made to €1.82/kg with 4 good ewes of 83kgs making €151.

Good size sale today with 400 on offer. A very good trade all round. A good bit of online activity across all rings. A special entry of dairy in-calf heifers made to €1,340. About 15 calves on offer and these made to €260 for AAX calves and €430 for HEX calves. A mixed run of suckler stock today, with great demand for quality lots as pairs made to €2,410 and in-calf lots making €1,680.

Numbers affected somewhat due to roads this morning but still over 500 head on offer. Again, the strong trade of last week maintained in the bullock & heifer rings, with cows a shade easier but the quality of cow on offer was not on a par with last week. More dairy culls available this week. Not as many forward bullocks today. Only a handful of aged bulls today and these averaged €2.24/kg, with a top call of €2,520 for a LM bull of 1,085kgs.

Good size sale today with over 500 cattle on offer. Heifer trade improved again this week, especially for lots in the 300-400kg range. Bulls a shade dearer on the week. It must be said good quality was available in both rings. All weanlings had a lot of feeding in them and some overfed in some instances. Only a dozen suck calves available and these made to €380 for a month old HEX bull calf. A small entry of suckler stock peaked at €2,320 for pairs and €2,170 for in-calf lots.

The good cull cows kicked on again today with several lots exceeding the €2,000 mark. Only a dozen bulls available today with a top call of €2,640 for a CH bull weighing 1,065kg.

Good size sale today with 650 on offer. Good trade all round in all rings today. 20 suck calves on offer with a handful of FR bulls making from €25-75 depending on strength, HEX calves made to €325 & AAX calves made to €265. A clearance sale of dairy cows met great demand and sold for an average of €1,350, with a top price of €1,770 for a 4-year-old cow. A large entry of suckler cows met a very good trade with in-calf lots making to €2,840, while pairs made to €2,300.
