Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.
Draw For First Pen To Be Sold in: Weanling Bull, Weanling Heifer, Suckler Cows, Cull Cows, Heifers & Bullocks
Enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Big sale for the time of year with just over 600 on offer. Trade holding very strong all round and suckler stock a great trade again with these making to €3,370 for in calf lots and pairs made to €3,240. Runner heifers made to €1,350 for a choice limousin of 280kgs and bulls made to €1,050. Bull weanlings similar trade again and shippers extremely active. Heifer trade similar to previous weeks with quality lots an excellent trade.

Fine size sale of cull cows & heifers today with just short of 600 on offer. Overall heifers dearer by 5c/kg to 10c/kg, with the forward lots achieving the highest increase. Some very good forward heifers available and in the cow ring €3,000 was breached today, as many lots surpassed €3/kg. Mostly continental types available today. A small entry of aged bulls and these were a serious trade especially for anything with flesh, with an overall average of €2.63/kg in this section.

Good size sale again today with 500 on offer. Shippers were once again very active in both the bull and heifer rings. Bull trade similar to the previous week, while heifer prices were up 5c/kg on the week. A handful of calves today and these made from €150 to €500. A mixed run of sucklers today and these made to €2,450 for in-calf lots and €1,710 for pairs.

The final sheep sale for 2024 was held today with 570 sheep on offer, trade was strong, lambs made to €220 and store lambs a great trade also. Again, fleshed ewes in strong demand and made to €209, with many lots exceeding €2/kg and an average of €1.91/kg achieved. Some very good sheep on sale today.

Final sale for 2024 was held today with just over 400 on offer. The year ended on a very positive note with a great trade in all rings. Beef was scarce in the sale with a lot of stores in the 450-550kg bracket. A handful of aged bulls averaged €2.58/kg, with a CH bull of 800kgs making €2,440. Opening sale for 2025 will be held on the 9th January.
