Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Today we had over 450 heifers and cull cows. Some great quality cows available and these were met with an improved trade and made to €2,300 and heifers made to €1,840. Again, quite a few forward heifers and these a similar trade to the previous week. A strong entry of aged bulls averaged €2.05/kg and €2,560 was recorded for a Charolais bull of 1,225kgs.

A serious yard of bullocks today with just over 600 of these on offer and a great trade all round with more bite in the forward cattle and a large number of bullocks weighing over 600 kgs. Some very heavy bullocks in the sale. Overall, the stores similar in price to previous weeks and these were a very strong trade. The figure of €2,690 was achieved today for a bullock, with heavy cattle making 2.70/kg – 3.20/kg depending on weight and quality.

Strong numbers of cull cows and heifers today with 538 on offer. A strong trade was the order of the day especially for forward stock. Some excellent cows available and these hit a high of €2,890 for a LM of 895kgs. Heifers topped out at €2,320, as quite a number of heifers were over 600 kgs. A good bit of northern activity today. A number of cull cows topped the €2,000 mark today. A good entry of aged bulls averaged €2.21/kg and hit €2,340 for a 930kg bull. Mostly continentals available again in both the cow and heifer rings.

The annual Weanling Heifer Show & Sale was another outstanding success in Kilfenora with 380 on offer and a cracking trade with the average prices up €111 on last year, despite weights being back 6kgs on average. It must be said that there was outstanding quality available. Again, mostly CH and CHX available. The average price was €3.46/kg across the board.

Numbers of heifers and cull cows were back today from last week, but this was no surprise due to the it being ploughing week. Again, quite a number of heifers over 550kgs today. Strong demand for the forward short keep heifers. More of a mix of dairy & continental cull cows available. Trade holding steady on the week. A strong entry of aged bulls averaged €2.25/kg and a top call of €2,190 for a LIM bull of 935kgs.

Very big sale of bullocks again today with just short of 800 on offer. Almost two thirds of the stock today were forward cattle but not beef and numbers of lighter stores were scarce. Trade was not as sharp as last 2 weeks but still quite strong. Quite a number of strong cattle going North.

Big entry of stock today with just short of 1,100 cattle on offer. Again, a super trade for bull weanlings with shippers and farmers competing strongly. Also, the heifer trade improved today too with some lovely quality lots available to mostly farmer buyers. A lot more runners with 150 on offer and these were a fine trade with bulls hitting €1,100 and heifers reaching €840. 40 suckler cows met great demand with pairs hitting €2,620 and in calf lots reaching €2,320. Online activity was particularly strong in today’s sale.
