Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Sheep Auction
Good size sale today with 500 on offer. A mixed run of lambs with a lot more stores on offer and lambs lacking flesh. Butcher lambs topped out at €159 for a pen of 7 at 54kgs. The cull ewes met good demand and these made from €1.10–1.60/kg, with a top call of €170 for a ewe weighing 106kgs.

Small sale this evening, but a great trade all round. There was 4 pairs of organic sucklers and these met huge demand making from €2,480 to €2,710. Also, a nice entry of cull cows were a fine trade.
This concludes business for 2023 in Kilfenora and we would like to wish all our customers a Happy Christmas and New Year.

Good size sale today with 484 on offer. Mostly farmers dominating the trade today with a small number of shippers active. Some very light runners and weanlings on offer today. Again, a great trade for the small amount of sucklers on offer as pairs made to €2,430. Only a handful of suck calves today with good quality FR bulls making to €120 for a month old calf.

Fine sale of cull cows & heifers today with numbers up on last week in both rings. Again, the more forward and beef type stock available met a great demand in both rings. A really strong trade for the cull cows today with the heifer trade similar to last week. A small entry of aged bulls today averaged €2.13/kg with a CH bull weighing 1,100kgs making €2,420.
