Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

MIXED BULL SALE ENNIS MART MONDAY 9TH April
Today Ennis Mart held its Mixed breed bull sale comprising of 69 lots. With Angus, Charolais, Hereford and Limousin Bulls on offer with some excellent bulls present. Top price bull was €3,700 for a excellent 3 star Hereford bull. Out of the top 4 priced bulls 3 were 5-star terminal bulls (1 Limousin 1 Charolais, 1 Angus). Top price Angus was €1,960. Top price Charolais was €3,480. Top price Limousin was €3,300. Price range of Charolais bulls was from €2,000 to €3,480. Limousin price range was from €1,825 to €3,300.

A large sale of over 1,000 head went under the hammer at Ennis mart today. Weanling trade is coming under pressure and continues to be affected by the recent poor weather conditions. This was seen with less farmer activity around all rings. A large entry of suck calves met a fair demand where a full clearance was achieved. Top price calf was €530 for a Charolais heifer calf. Friesian calves made from €70-€140 with lighter calves selling from €30-€60. Hereford and Angus calves made from €200-€370. Continental bred calves sold from €300-€530. In-calf suckler heifers sold up to €1,200. Suckler cows with calves at foot sold up to €1,940 for a Blue cow with a Limousin calf at foot. Freshly calved dairy cows and heifers made from €1,200 up to €1,560. Sheep trade is holding firm with hogget’s making up to €162 for 58kg. Cull ewes made up to €130. Ewes with lambs sold to €210 for a ewe with twin lambs. Spring lambs were in high demand with pen of 11 lambs weighing 39kg sold for €130.

Kilrush mart had a full house and a high clearance rate on Wednesday. A large entry of yearling stock was on offer. Trade held firm on the previous week with a good demand for all quality types. FR calves sold mainly from €50 up to €230. AAX/HEX calves sold from €150 up to €350, continentals sold up to €430. Good activity from agents around all rings. Great demand for cull cows.

THURSDAY 12th APRIL 2018
Another large entry in Ennis mart today where both grass buyers and feeders were more active. The bullock and heifer trade has remained a steady trade with prices holding and even increasing €25 per head on last week, HEX/AAX cattle seem to be in good demand at the moment with lots selling quite well. Some quality bullocks on offer and these were met by an excellent demand of farmers and agents. Forward bullocks were especially in demand and met a flying trade. Cows were met with a very strong demand with both forward and store cows in excellent demand. Aged bulls sold to a top price of €2,360 for a CH bull weighting 1,220kg.
