Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Another large sale in Ennis mart today where trade has remained steady for all types. Trade is similar in both the heifer and bull weanling ring, with quality lots easily fetching €2.65/kg to €3.00/kg. Another large entry of calves where Friesian bull calves sold from €70 up to €210. Angus/Hereford cross calves sold from €150 up to €370. Continental cross calves sold from €235 up to €450. There was excellent quality on show in the suckler ring today, in-calf suckler cows and heifers sold up to €1,500. Suckler cows with calves at foot sold for a top price of €2,200. Freshly calved dairy cows and heifers made from €1,000 up to €1,480. Sheep trade is holding firm, with spring lambs making up to a max of €159 for a pen of 7 weighing 44 kg. Hoggets made up to €155 for 60kg. Ewes and Lambs made to €160. Cast ewes met a strong demand with quality lots easily making between €70 - €127.

WEDNESDAY 25th APRIL
Trade in Kilrush was brisk right throughout the day with another full house going under the hammer. FR calves sold mainly from €50 up to €165. AAX/HEX calves sold from €130 up to €250, continentals sold up to €375 for a Belgian Blue bull calf. Heifers and bullocks were in strong demand, with trade similar to the previous week. A full clearance was achieved in the dry cow ring were all types were in high demand.

Another large entry in Ennis mart today where both grass buyers and feeders were very active. The bullock and heifer trade has remained a steady trade with prices matching those of last week, HEX/AAX cattle seem to be in good demand at the moment where lots easily sold for over €2/kg. Cows were met with a very strong demand with heavy fleshed cows selling the best with some quality lots fetching up to a €1,000 with the weight and many lots fetching over €2/kg. Aged bulls sold to a top price of €2,040 for a LM bull weighting 995kg.
